I've Been Tagged

My sweet friend Rondell from Tomatoe Creek Prims tagged me yesterday to share six random things about me, and then to tag six other friends. Here are my random things:

1. I hate seafood...hate the taste, hate the smell. Yuck! And that includes shrimp and other shellfish. But I love tartar sauce, and every now and then I get a strong hankering for some fried flounder and tartar sauce. It freaks Hubby out when I get this craving! Now the flounder has to be cut into smaller pieces and fried really hard (so that there's no fishy flavor) but when I have that craving, it's really yummy!
2. I always loved school, and when I was younger I was convinced that I was going to be a professional student with at least two PhD's. I know, I'm such a geek.
3. My most interesting job had to be when I worked at the White House for a year during the Clinton administration. My title was Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff, which meant that I was a glorified secretary. It was a fun year, I can't lie!
4. I'm a frustrated artist at heart. I love to draw, but have no imagination. I absolutely love to sing and dance, but I can't do either very well. I tried to learn how to play the guitar and the piano, but I don't have the skill or passion to follow it through. And I love to write, especially poetry, but we all know how that turned out.
5. My biggest fear would have to be losing my eyesight. I love to read, and if you took that away from me I would be desolate. Sure I could learn Braille, but I don't think it would be quite the same.
6. You won't believe this, but my house isn't prim. Not even a little bit. It's more... hmmmm... country chic, I guess. Hubby won't let me go prim!

And now, it's your turn:

Cheryl at Tidymom
Dana at Homespun Cottage
Janae at Crazy Coops Corner
Kindra at 3 Guys, A Girl, and a Prim Place
Lauren at Simple Blessings
Pam at Farmhouse Primitives

Can't wait to see what these girls have to say!

  1. Pam,
We would do so well together, I have an imagination that is unreal but can't paint or draw for the life of me! That talent skipped a generation from my mom, right past me and hit my daughter head on.

My style is sophisticated country but I do love prim too. I like putting a few prim pieces here and there.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Well that was so nice to learn more about you...I have been reading everyone of my blogging buddies and have loved learning more and more new things about them all.

I have to say I am artsy but can't paint or draw a picture if my life depended on it. The same goes for singing and picking up a instrument. But I stand my grounds and say that I am still more artsy.

Like Robin said in her comment, skipped my generation and also hit my daughter right on. She is very good at drawing, painting and is a very good singer. She is in the church choir, a private choir team and also takes private singing lessons. And just recently I found out that she has been going on U-Tube and self teaching herself how to play the organ. I have to admit she is good. So she is definitely my artsy fartsy girl. That is what I call her...hehe

I hope you are having a great weekend so far and that tomorrow will be a great sunny day for you.

  4. Thanks so much for tagging me! I'll share sometime this week!

What an exciting time to work in the white house!!

I love prim but I love all types of decorating styles.

I love to draw also but it's hard to be creative. I'm better at drying freehand and copying form a picture.
