Wow, I've missed you guys! Two full weeks without posting...I feel so very very guilty. But I'll try to make it up to you. Today's edition...the Dream Wedding recap. Tomorrow I'll share about the rest of our vacation.
If you're just joining us, I've been on vacation. Hubby and I traveled to Minneapolis for my stepbrother Larry's wedding to my beautiful new sister Bridget. The wedding was gorgeous and touching, just as it should be. The only downside is that my pics didn't turn out so well; I think I had the camera on the wrong setting. But I'll share anyway!
Here's one of Bridget coming down the romantic white curving staircase before walking down the aisle. The late afternoon sunlight gave her such an ethereal look. I'm still kicking myself over the graininess of the pictures!
And here's one of Larry and Bridget with the minister during the wedding. They're looking at each other trying not to giggle, I think. That's what Hubby and I did at this point in our ceremony, anyway.
Instead of a unity candle, Bridget and Larry had a special part of the ceremony where their parents came up and poured earth into a single container from the homesites they grew up in, as well as their grandparents' farms. Larry and Bridget then added earth from their own homes to the mix, completing the joining of their past and present to their future. It was a very "green" and unique way of symbolizing their union.
And finally...the kiss! So sweet!
And then the reception. Ahhh! Such good food! It was wonderful spending time with family and friends and celebrating Larry and Bridget finding each other. It couldn't have been a more beautiful wedding or a more special party. And Hubby and I were thrilled to be a part of it.
Oh, before I forget. Here's a pic of Hubby, me, my Mom, my stepdad Fred, and his son Larry the groom. I think we caught Fred thinking about lemon pie!
Tomorrow...about the rest of our vacation, our trip out west.
