Russian Tea

Nothing's better on a chilly fall or winter day j0400585 than a mug of hot Russian Tea. Never had it, you say? You're missing out! It was a staple for the wintertime when I was growing up and it always reminds me of the holidays.

Russian Tea mix is very easy to throw together and when placed in a pretty airtight container makes a great Christmas gift. Everyone loves to receive a jar of Russian Tea mix!

Here's what you'll need:

   1 cup sugar
2 cups Tang instant breakfast drink mix
1-1/2 cup unsweetened instant tea mix
   1 teaspoon ground cloves
   1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix ingredients well and store in airtight container. To use, add 2 or 3 teaspoons mix to one cup boiling water according to your taste. Add a lemon twist, orange twist, or cinnamon stick if you're feeling punchy!

Tip: Buy the smallest container of Tang and instant tea mix that you can to make this recipe. They both tend to "cake up" over time in storage. Also, you can use sweetened instant tea mix, but if you do you will not need the cup of sugar.

Orange Spiced Tea

This is such a popular drink that there is a Beanpod Soy Candle fragrance called Orange Spiced Tea that's designed to recreate the aroma of Russian Tea. We carry it in our shop and I've made some available in our online store; just click here to check it out.

  2. Pam,
I have never tried Russian Tea but it sounds good! I will definitely be trying it. And I think it would make a wonderful gift, too. Hope Jimmy and I can get back up there to see you and all of your Christmas goodies soon.
    Blessings,
    Susan
