I decided to take a break from telling you about new stuff in the shop in order to share some pics of my kitties today. You animal lovers will understand, I'm sure.
This is Smokey (yes, I know, we're not too original with the names at our house). He's our "old man", not because he's older but because he acts older. He doesn't trot around the house like the other cats, he slowly ambles along. When he eats, he bellies up to the bowl and wraps his arms around it as he buries his face in it. Nobody's sharing this boy's food!
Smokey is a homebody and would like nothing more than to sleep in the house all day. We normally shoo him out with the others in the morning, but today I decided to let him stay inside so that he can snooze. He's keeping Frisky company today; more on that later.
Here's my pal, Stripe. You remember him...he's the one that brings home snakes. Whenever Stripe comes to the back door, he looks through the window and catches your eye, then tilts his head to the side and even upside down, looking at you like, "Aren't I the cutest thing ever? Don't you want to let me inside?" Hmmm...note to self: time to clean that window again.
And here's my baby, Frisky. She's always being picked on by the other kitties so now she growls whenever any are within three feet of her. Hubby and I tend to baby her; she eats sitting in a chair underneath the kitchen table while all the other kitties eat together on the floor. And she sleeps right between our pillows every night. She took off for six days last week and worried us sick, so now we're keeping her inside. Poor thing's on Day 3 of her forced captivity.
This morning Frisky was sitting on the perch in the breakfast room window and growled at Stripe...through the glass. He had jumped up on the woodpile that's in front of the outside of the window and peeked in at her; she didn't like that at all!
Seems that most folks are either "dog people" or "cat people"; it's pretty obvious which camp we're in. Believe it or not, one of these days when we move out to the country and have some acreage, hubby wants to have a black Lab like he had when he was a kid on the farm. I figure the only way that will work is if we find a teeny puppy and let the kitties raise him! LOL
So what kind of pets do you have?
