Brrrr....woke up this morning to a chilly 24 degrees; the high today isn't expected to be more than 35. But I'm not complaining; we've had unseasonably warm weather for the last week (high 60s) and it's kind of tough getting into the Christmas spirit when you're in short sleeves.
With my shop schedule, it's been hard finding the time to do my own Christmas shopping. But I'm managing to do a little here and there, before I open and after I close. The stress is slowly lifting and I'm starting to get excited about Christmas.
Hubby and I plan to spend Christmas morning at home with my two grown children...thank goodness we don't have to get up and open gifts at the crack of dawn any more! I have to admit, though, I miss the anticipation and excitement of youngsters on Christmas morning. I'm planning to put together a breakfast casserole the night before and then pop it in the oven when I get up.
Hubby's job on Christmas Day is to make the turkey for my mother's Christmas dinner. He plans to deep fry a medium-sized turkey and rotisserie a turkey breast on the grill. He'll be running back and forth between the turkeys all morning, then we'll wrap them up and take off to my mother's for the afternoon and evening. We'll snack a little, open presents, eat dinner about 4:00, then sit around and catch up for a while while the kids run around playing with their presents.
My shop will be open until 4:00 or 5:00 on Christmas Eve, then closed for Christmas Day. I'll reopen the day after Christmas with a HUGE sale, so those of you who can come by definitely should! More on that later...
