A Fresh Start

Yoohoo...remember me? It's been a long time, hasn't it? Things are looking a little different over here on my blog, and there's a good reason for that. Since I'm getting a "fresh start", it just seemed fair the the blog gets a fresh start too. Let me fill you in...

Two years ago I told you all the story about how Hubby and I were dying to move to the Pacific Northwest, specifically to Washington or Idaho. People told us we were crazy to want to leave North Carolina, but we were so ready for big changes in our lives that we didn't listen.

After long, hard discussions about the pros and cons, in January of this year we decided to bite the bullet and make the move without a job. We flew to Spokane, Washington and spent a week looking at over 30 houses within a 50 mile radius trying to find one we could call "home". The second house we looked at turned out to be "the one", and we knew it as soon as we drove up the mountain and down a long, winding snow-covered road through an evergreen forest that opened up onto a property that took our breath away. Even though we looked at all the other houses on our list, we still kept coming back to #2.

Fast forward nine months. Today I'm sitting here typing away on my laptop on the island of my new kitchen...in Idaho. The move was long and hard and a blog post or two all in itself, but we were finally all moved in by the end of June. Settling in and finishing up the house have turned out to be another long hard process, but we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

You, my friend, have been missed but not forgotten. I'll fill you in on all the stuff you've missed in between, but for now know that I'm still alive...and so is the dream. I have stories and pictures to share about the adventure so far, and look forward to a fresh start as I enter this new phase in my life.

Let the fun begin!

Hugs,

You may not get the rain we get here, but sounds like you will definitely get the snow where you are! IF YOU MAKE IT THIS WAY, PLEASE, PLEASE LOOK ME UP! I'd love to have lunch and chat with a fellow North Carolinian!
