My 300th Post Giveaway!

Since starting this blog back in January of 2008, I've written posts about a lot of things...my family, what's new in my shop, favorite recipes, tips and tricks, closing my antiques shop in North Carolina, and lately about our move to Idaho. I even took two years off from blogging, but still managed to rack up 300 posts, as of today.

Along the way the number of followers has finally surpassed 100, another milestone to celebrate. Add to that the reopening of my online shop, and I'm practically giddy!

I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to share one of my goodies with you. One lucky commenter will receive this adorable snowman head, too large for an ornie so I guess we'll call him a "tuck". He measures about 9" x 7" x 1.5" (see...I told you he was big!). He was handmade by one of my sweet friends, and is excited at the thought of going to a new home.

One comment on this post will be selected by a random number generator, so use separate comments for each way you qualify. Here are up to six ways to win:
  1. Comment on this post, and this post only, about your favorite Christmas memory.
  2. Must be a follower; new followers are welcome! (To follow, you can click on the "Follow" in the very top left of your computer screen, or click on "Subscribe" in the green bar above for lots of following options.) Also, must have a U.S. or Canadian shipping address and be sure that I have your email address so that I can contact you.
  3. Post this giveaway on your blog's sidebar, with a link back to this post.
  4. Add my blog to your "blog favorites" on your blog's sidebar.
  5. "Like" our page on Facebook.
  6. Share about this giveaway on Facebook: Win a prim snowman tuck from @antiqueornot.
You can enter one way, just a few, or all six, but each way you enter needs its own comment in order to help increase your odds of winning.

Entries will close at 5 p.m. PST on Saturday, December 10th; winner will be notified by email and announced on December 11th. If the winner does not respond within two days, another winner will be chosen.

Good luck to all of you!

Hugs,

  3. Well congratulations Missy Pam on 300 posts and 101 followers! Wow - you've been blogging since 2008? That's an achievement in and of itself - even with taking time off....

Let's see - my favorite Christmas memory - When you get this old, you have quite a few - but the one that comes to mind right now is the year that my uncle set out to make be truly "believe." See - I was always somewhat of a skeptical child - or perhaps, just the "investigative" type. Mom would try to tell us she saw Santa peeking in the window in the vain hope us kids would behave, and I'd be outside looking for footprints, etc. Well, this particular uncle thought he'd show me and one year he parked his car at the end of our 3/4 mile driveway and walked to our house on a bitterly cold December night in Nod and climbed up on the roof to make it sound like Santa and or his elves and reindeer were checking up on us. Poor Dear Uncle Albert slipped off our farmhouse roof and landed in the snowbank with a twisted ankle...but the family kept the secret from me for years to come....

  6. Hmmm...Christmas memory. Well, it is probably the time my daughter found all of their presents which were hidden in the basement and we talked for days to convince her that Santa had already left them cause his sleigh was overloaded. She was only 8 at the time.

  14. Happy 300th post PJ!! A favorite Christmas memory of mine....the year my Dad, my little brother and I went off in search of the perfect Christmas tree. We lived in a big old farmhouse with 10' ceilings so the house required a rather large tree...well we got the perfect tree and...it was large, so large that Dad had to cut it down and we had to make extra ornaments to fill it and purchase more lights to cover it. It really was the perfect, most beautiful tree ever!

  15. The memory that sticks out in my mind is also about a tree, we had this crooked tree that kept falling over, my Dad finally wired it to the banister, so it wouldn't topple over, it really was a pretty tree, just couldn't stand on its own. I can still hear my Dad grumbling about that tree. Ah....the memories.

  16. My favorite Christmas memory must be from 1968 when my twin sister and I were nearly 4 years old in December of that year.. This is my earliest memory of our childhood.

  22. Number 2 entry: Hard to pick a favorite Christmas memory, but I always enjoyed going downtown and seeing the animated Christmas scenes in the department store windows. I especially liked the winter scenes with all kinds of woodland animals building snowmen, sledding and skating, making cookies, etc.

  25. Hi! I just found your site and love it! Down yonder in South Carolina, prims are hard to come by and they remind me of home in NY. My favorite memory is following the powdered sugar footprints my mom would leave with daddy's boots....they would run from the door to the living room (we didnt have a fireplace) but Santa made it anyway : )

  29. My favorite Christmas memory... driving my kids around the block when they were younger, to look at all the Christmas lights, while my husband played Santa Claus and put the presents under the tree. Then I came home with the kids and my husband would pretend to be sleeping and I would tell the kids that Santa must of came when we were gone, Lol! They are 22 and 21 now. oh the memories.

  33. My favorite Chrismtas memory comes from my early childhood. On CHristmas Eve we would all gather at my Gma's house...not a big family...about 13 of us, but close! We would shoot fireworks no matter the weather...exchange gifts...eat...sing carols around the piano...and all make "bets" as to how late my uncle from out of town would be. I can still feel the chill of the living room where the piano was bc my Gma would not heat that room...but it didn't matter to any of us...we were together. I'd give anything, nearly, to go back and relive that once!

  46. One of my favorite Christmas memories actually still happens every single year when we drive around at night to see the Christmas lights in neighborhoods and parks. When the kids were little, we'd bundle them into their jammies, and we'd take hot chocolate & cookies to enjoy. So fun!

I'm a new visitor to your blog, and I see that we're nearly neighbors since I live in Utah. Nice to meet you!

  52. My favorite Christmas memory is waking up to our stockings on our beds. My mom started our tradition of putting our stockings on our beds at night when we went to bed. The empty stockings were placed down by our feet, empty. We had 2 stockings each. Santa would fill them out and sometime in those wee morning hours, when it was still dark out, you would feel this heavy filled stocking laying across your legs, hear the crinkling of tissue paper. We had to wait until it was lighter out and my sister and I would get into one bed or the other and open up 1 of our stockings together. Then we'd go into our parents room and open the 2nd....much to the dismay of my blurring eyed mother who most likely just had gotten to sleep! YEARS later when my sister had just moved out and came back home to sleep over for Christmas Eve, I myself was in college. I told mom when we were still up late together to put all of the stockings under the tree since that's where my parents stocking all were. Well my sister actually had a sissy fit that morning because her stocking wasn't on her bed! Traditions!

  63. I am a new follower of your blog. What cute items!! One of my favorite Christmas memories is the year I had to work on Christmas. So Santa came on Christmas Eve while we were at church. My oldest son, who was about 12 or 13 was furious!! He was jumping around the house just yelling that we could not open presents yet...because that was NOT the way we do it!! I can still see his arms just a flapping as he jumped around!! Poor kid! Katie

My fav memory is putting up my Mother's silver aluminum Christmas tree (man, do I ever wish I had that baby now!) looking at those BIG old timey Christmas bulbs, and her making real hot cocoa drinks - I don't think they even had the ready-made mixes back then anyways.

  69. Congrats on 300 posts!!! I would love to be entered in your giveaway. What an adorable snowman. One of my favorite Christmas memories is the first year my (city boy) husband and I were together. We got a real tree. He thought he would surprise me and set it up. In our small apartment I came home to a tree that took up almost our whole living room. He had cut off the top instead of the bottom. It was practically a cylinder by then. lol yup still makes me laugh. He had also tied rope around it and secured it to the walls. We were young but now that I think back I wonder what that landlord thought when there were those big screw holes in the walls.
    Thanks

  75. My favorite Christmas Memory.... We open presents at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve and every year when I was in another room so I couldn't see my grampa go outside, he would sneak out and make noise somehow on the roof of the house (it seemed like it came from there anyways)and say HO HO HO and everyone would tell me it was Santa. I can't quite remember the reason they told me that I couldn't go out and see him for myself but I never even tried to.. I was so excited and then all of the sudden all these presents were under the tree from Santa.. teehee..Not sure how old I was when I quit believing it was Santa delivering presents but I did believe it for a long time......We even did this to my daughter when she was little...
