Getting Organized in the New Year

It's almost the end of the first week in January and I'm already behind...way behind. I haven't been popping in to chat with you guys—either here or on your blogs—nearly as much as I wanted. But I promise to do better!

Hubby and I have been getting things accomplished around the house. We're still trying to settle in, even though we officially moved in last spring. We hung a 4x6 framed antique tapestry in our stairwell the other day...now that was interesting! Have you ever tried to hang something bulky and heavy really high on a wall in a stairwell? It's dangerous, I tell you! And I still have the back pain to prove it.

I also finally organized all of my winter gear; it had been in a plastic tub sitting in our bedroom. I stripped all of the lingerie that I never wear out of my dresser drawers and sorted out the winter gear in the drawers like so:

I told you I was a little obsessive/compulsive about organizing! But doesn't it make sense to put the things you put on your head in the top drawer, the things you put on your feet in the bottom drawer, and your gloves in the middle? Just sayin'...

And here's what my daughter calls our CVS closet; whatever you need that you can find in a drugstore, you'll find here...sorted out in their own little containers according to category like first aid, hair care, dental, etc.:

Now I'm dying to sit down and refold all of my fabric so that they are they same width and the fold faces the outside. My stash still looks pretty messy:

And wait...the plastic bins in the CVS closet should all be the same color and size...

Hmmm...is this normal? Maybe I need to seek professional help. ;o)

Hugs,
Pam

  2. Pam, you make me want to go organize something. My problem is where on earth to start? Which closet should I tackle? I really like your head to toe idea for your dresser. ~Ann

  6. LOL Girlfriend....You are, indeed, a kindred spirit....'Cept, perhaps, the containers in my CVS cupboard would be color coded - you know one color for makeup; another for first aid; etc. (Note, I said "would be" as I haven't gotten to that closet yet!!) Organize on Sweetie....(And you and your hubby wouldn't want to swing by Nod and help me hang some gameboards over my stairwell, would you???) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS - GORGEOUS tapestry!!)
