Mantel Makeover

After reading Rondell's blog post yesterday about her mantel makeover, I decided that it was timeMantel before to reinvent one of the mantels in our shop. For the past few months, it has been decidedly "spring-y" with a lavender pip berry garland, pale delicate porcelains and antique glassware, and a few cute little resin birdies thrown in for fun.

IMG_0309 First I stripped away the pastel garland and birdies, then took away the glassware and porcelains. I replaced the garland with a very autumn-like acorn garland and added bittersweet candle rings to the bases of tIMG_0308he electric candles.

Then I switched out the garden sign above the mantel with a primitive "antiques" sign, added a couple of fall redware plates and a pillow and a couple of the new tiny primitive round boxes that we just got in, and placed a few copper and wood items.

IMG_0307The final touches were resin pumpkins - made right here in North Carolina, folks! - that we just got in and that filled in the mantel beautifully.'s time for fall!Mantel main

  1. Oh, I just love it, makes me want to decorate for fall:) you certainly have the knack for decorating, I love that crow sign and those pumpkins!

  2. Thanks, Rondell! I wasn't going to really start thinking about decorating for fall until August, but I had customers in the shop yesterday who were asking about Christmas...already! LOL

  3. Pam,
I LOVE the mantel! You did such a great job with it! I can't wait to start decorating for Fall! I have already started on my fabric pumpkins - maybe I'll have them finished before Fall is over!

Your comments always make me smile. Thanks for taking the time to leave me a sweet note!
